What would it look for the African diaspora to learn coffee culture from each other, rather than from a colonial lens?

If we are able to secure 1000 pre-orders of this sneaker before the end of October we'll be able to rush order our first ever shipment just in time for the holiday season this year. This design will bring 4 coffee enthusiast from the motherland and the black American community together for two weeks in 2023 and 2024 to host the first ever Black Barista Exchange during our next trip to the motherland in November 2023, and the Color of Coffee Collective 2024.

This shoe serves as the primary fund raising engine for the black barista exchange program: an innovative program where the Cxffeeblack team is seeking to partner with four young baristas from across the continent and bring them to Anti Gentrification Cxffee Club to meet and train with some of favorite melanated  coffee professionals in the states, culminating in a trip to the first and only BIPOC coffee conference, the Color of Coffee Symposium. This will be followed up by bringing another group of four African-American aspiring coffee nerds  to the continent to learn from baristas at origin about the histories and traditions of Black Coffee culture in the motherland.

Designed and produced in collaboration with philanthropic designer Edward Bogard and So Give Shoes, this collaborative piece of coffee culture will only be available for a limited amount of time. Be sure to grab your exclusive pair and support the movement to truly make coffee black again.
